Louis Vuitton will launch a new cosmetics range with top make-up artist Dame Pat McGrath at the helm.
The French fashion giant will debut La Beauté Louis Vuitton later this autumn with McGrath as Creative Director.
The beauty line will be the first for Louis Vuitton in the modern age after producing powder compacts, brushes and mirrors back in the 1920s.
A fragrance line was launched by the luxury brand in 2022.
With a career as a make-up artist spanning decades, McGrath launched her eponymous cosmetics brand in 2015 and was made a Dame in 2021.
She was the first make-up artist to receive the honour.
Commenting on her partnership with Louis Vuitton, McGrath said: “Working backstage for over 20 years at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to now play such a key role in the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, which is the result of extraordinary craftmanship, creativity and innovation.
“The beauty universe is about so much more than just product, and what we are creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty.”
McGrath told Vogue magazine that the range will include 55 lipsticks, ten tinted lip balms and eight eyeshadow quads.
Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, said: “La Beauté Louis Vuitton is a natural business evolution, driven by our meticulous attention to quality, formula and innovation.
“Through this new universe, we have the opportunity to further accompany clients in their everyday lives with purpose and pleasure, while continuing to celebrate our creativity and heritage.”
Louis Vuitton’s parent company LVMH already owns a number of perfume and cosmetics brands such as Dior, Givenchy and Guerlain, as well as international retailer Sephora.
Luxury fashion houses are increasingly making a move into the lucrative make-up and skin care market.
