Dolce & Gabbana (D&G) has opened a “first-of-its-kind” beauty and accessories hybrid store in the UK to expand its reach.

Situated in London’s Covent Garden shopping destination, the 850sqft store is a “world-first” for the Italian fashion house, combining its cosmetics and accessories under one roof.

A curated range of signature fragrances is on offer, alongside a make-up consultation area.

Shoppers can also purchase D&G’s exclusive eyewear range.

It is a timely move for D&G as it aims to grow the retail value of its Beauty Division from €1bn to €3bn by 2026.

The brand has already overhauled its make-up offering and debuted new female fragrance pillars in the past year as part of its innovation strategy.

The store opening also marks D&G's return to Covent Garden following a successful pop-up in the destination’s Piazza in 2022.

The new site’s interior design is said to blend the brand’s “trademark Italian glamour” with the heritage of Covent Garden’s Market Building, featuring gold panelling and monochrome tiles.

William Oliver, Retail Leasing Director at Shaftesbury Capital, which owns Covent Garden, said: "Dolce & Gabbana's commitment to blending tradition with innovation is what makes Covent Garden the perfect location to debut a world-first concept.

“Building on the noteworthy success of its pop-up in 2022, the brand has reinvested in the destination, showcasing Covent Garden’s appeal for internationally renowned fashion houses to put down permanent roots.”

Covent Garden is known to appeal to high-end beauty operators due to its footfall.

Luxury make-up brand Charlotte Tilbury just opened a significantly upsized flagship in the area that includes its first-ever Skin Spa.

Chanel, Diptyque, Glossier, Guerlain, Miller Harris, Penhaligon’s and Tom Ford Beauty also have bricks-and-mortar spaces.
