The LVMH-owned beauty giant is accelerating its retail expansion across the UK, with a new unit opening at Liverpool One next year

Sephora will open its eighth UK store in Liverpool next year as it ramps up its retail expansion.

The LVMH-owned beauty retailer’s 6,727sqft cornerstone unit will debut in spring 2025 and be based in retail and entertainment destination Liverpool One.

It promises to stock exclusive make-up, fragrance, skin care and hair care products from brands such as Makeup by Mario, GXVE by Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs and Topicals.

The store will also house “viral” beauty products from the likes of Glossier, Glow Recipe, Kayali, Rare Beauty and Tatcha.

“We have had immense demand from our fans in Liverpool to open a store in their city,” said Sephora UK’s Managing Director Sarah Boyd.

“Liverpool has been a key location in our brand expansion plans, and we were prepared to wait for the right opportunity, which this prominent Liverpool One unit provides.

“As we prepare to welcome both new and existing customers, we are looking forward to creating a truly memorable and enchanting shopping experience at Liverpool One, in an exciting store format that reflects the spirit of the city.”

Rob Deacon, Asset Management Director at Liverpool One, added: “Securing best-in-class retailers and experiences for the city is precisely what we aim to achieve at the destination, so the entrance of this beauty powerhouse is a natural partnership.”

Sephora's existing UK locations are in Manchester’s Trafford Centre, Newcastle’s Eldon Square and MetroCentre, and London Westfield’s White City and Stratford City shopping centres.

Two more stores will launch at Birmingham’s Bullring and Kent’s Bluewater Shopping Centre this winter.

Sephora also unveiled a new tier-based loyalty programme for UK customers this year in a bid to further strengthen its position in the market.
