Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) has announced a C-suite reshuffle that will see Sephora’s President and CEO join its Executive Committee.
Guillaume Motte’s appointment to the Committee will be effective 1 January 2025.
Motte, an LVMH veteran, took over Sephora’s top job at the start of 2023, succeeding Chris de LaPuente.
Prior to this, he had been Deputy CEO for LVMH’s Fashion Group.
Motte’s joining LVMH’s Executive Committee was unveiled by the French luxury conglomerate’s Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault amid a series of role changes.
Effective 1 December, Maud Alvarez-Pereyre will become LVMH’s Executive VP Human Resources.
She will also join its Executive Committee.
Cécile Cabanis, already a member of LVMH’s Executive Committee, will become the group’s CFO, succeeding Jean-Jacques Guioni from 1 February next year.
At the same time, Guiony – who is also a member of the LVMH Executive Committee – will move to its Wines and Spirits division as President and CEO.
He replaces 21-year LVMH veteran Philippe Schaus and will be joined by Alexandre Arnault as Deputy CEO of the division.
Also under the Wines and Spirits business, Charles Delapalme will take over the role of President and CEO at Hennessy.
This will follow a period of transition with current Hennessy lead Laurent Boillot, whose new responsibilities will be announced at a later date, according to LVMH.
LVMH is not the only luxury brand-owner making executive-level changes.
This week, Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) announced that its UK & Ireland President, Sue Fox, would retire after 30 years.
Pernilla Nyberg will succeed Fox’s leadership as ELC’s Senior VP and GM, UK & Ireland.
This came hot on the heels of a major shake-up at the beauty brand owner’s New York head office, which saw Stéphane de La Faverie unveiled as the successor to outgoing boss Fabrizio Freda.
Freda has been with the American company for more than 16 years.
