Singing sensation and actress Gwen Stefani has become the latest celebrity to enter the world of cosmetics with her debut brand GXVE.
Pronounced ‘give’, the colour cosmetics line is expected to hit the market on 3 March with Sephora as the official retail partner.
Eight products for face, brow, eye and lips have dropped as part of the initial launch, and are procured from US$21 to $48, according to WWD.
Hero to the collection is the Rich Girl singer’s Original Recipe shade, a bold cherry colour, synonymous with Stefani and her singing career in the 90s and noughties.
Original Shade has been formulated in three forms: a matte lipstick, satin lipstick and matte liquid lipstick.
“People have asked me my entire life: ‘What colour lipstick are you wearing?’” said the 52-year-old.
“That was the number one question I’ve had my entire career, and I would never tell people what colour I was wearing, ever.
“I don’t know why, but I guess it was probably meant to be that I was going to do this one day.”
Alongside her lip care skus, Stefani has introduced a pencil eyeliner in two shades and eyeshadow quad, as well as a brow pencil and sculpting brow definer, both in seven shades.
Completing the line is the brand’s most expensive product, the All Time Primer.
More products are set to follow.
Stefani joins fellow singers Rihanna, Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga to launch a beauty brand.
