The former L’Oréal exec will head up the LVMH-controlled luxury fragrance house, bringing more than 20 years’ experience to the role

LVMH has named Giulio Bergamaschi CEO of Acqua di Parma, effective immediately.

Bergamaschi succeeds Laura Burdese, who left the Italian fragrance house last year to become Vice President of Marketing and Communication at another LVMH-controlled firm, Bulgari

He will report to Stéphanie Medioni, Executive President of LVMH Beauty, who has been supervising the Acqua di Parma business in between appointments.

Bergamaschi brings more than 20 years’ experience within beauty to the role, including an 18-year career stint at L’Oréal

While working for the beauty conglomerate, Bergamaschi learned about product development, communication and international strategy.

His leadership roles during this time included Global Brand President of skin care range Biotherm and General Manager of L’Oréal Paris DMI in China.

Bergamaschi then joined LVMH in April 2022 as Strategic Missions Director for luxury fashion company Loro Piana.

His focus was brand strategy and textile excellences’ valorisation through enhanced client experience and transparency initiatives.

This included the traceability digital certification with Aura Blockchain Consortium.

“Giulio is a seasoned and passionate beauty professional and leader,” said Medioni.

“His deep sense of international markets and knowledge of the beauty category are critical assets for Acqua di Parma and the division.

“Giulio will further elevate [the company’s] position as a worldwide promoter of Italian lifestyle and craftsmanship.”

Acqua di Parma has been owned by LVMH since 2001.

LVMH recently shook up its Beauty division, naming Stéphane Rinderknech CEO.

He now oversees the group’s perfumes and cosmetics category globally, which includes Parfums Christian Dior, Guerlain and Kendo.
