L’Oréal’s Professional Products Division (PPD) is bringing the next chapter of its hair education programme, The Texture of Change, to New York City, US, in October.
Texture Mastery Pro is a two-day immersive experience taking place from 7 to 8 October at the new L’Oréal Academy East in Hudson Yards.
L’Oréal PPD’s ongoing initiative to advance textured hair education and advocacy will bring together 200 professional stylists, educators, industry leaders and advocates.
Tickets are now available for the 25th anniversary of the Pure Beauty Awards, taking place on 15 October 2026 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, UK. Join the beauty industry for an evening of recognition and celebration as this year’s winners are revealed. Click here to secure your place.
Notable speakers and stylists confirmed include Jawara Wachoupe, Nai’vasha Grace, Kayra Theodore, Tippi Shorter, Dhairius Thomas and Leysa Carrillo.
The event will also feature seven L’Oréal PPD brands, including L’Oréal Professionnel, Redken, Color Wow, Matrix, Mizani, Kérastase and Biolage.
Across the two days, attendees will experience thought leadership panels, hands-in-hair education, advanced look-and-learn sessions, and opportunities to connect with industry-leading voices.
This is all centred around equipping beauty professionals with the skills and knowledge to better serve every hair texture.
A L’Oréal Professional company statement read: “Taking place at the new state-of-the-art L’Oréal Academy, the hands-on workshops will combine classroom-style learning with the opportunity to immediately put new techniques into practice alongside leading hair artists across the brands.”
Day one is designed for stylists and creators to explore how the movement for greater textured hair education can ultimately translate to a better, more inclusive experience for consumers in salons.
Day two, meanwhile, is designed for stylists to get a deeper immersion into texture artistry.
The L’Oréal Professional statement continued: “L’Oréal PPD recognised a glaring gap in the professional beauty industry.
“More than 65% of people have textured hair, coily, curly and wavy, yet textured hair has historically been underrepresented in traditional cosmetology education.
“As a result of this discovery, L’Oreal has made impactful strides to bring greater access to the education and training required to confidently service every hair type and texture.
“This event is the latest evolution of The Textures of Change’s broader mission to help close that gap – creating more equitable access to textured hair education and empowering professionals with the skills to meet the diverse needs of every client.”
