Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) will open its new Fragrance Atelier in Paris, France, this year to ramp up its “strategic ambitions in prestige and luxury fragrance innovation”.
The location – second arrondissement at 14 to 18 Rue Volney – was chosen for its proximity to ELC's Paris headquarters.
The Atelier will be housed in ELC’s new La Maison des Parfums building, which will centralise the company’s fragrance brand teams across marketing, creative and product development.
The site will allow for “stronger collaboration” and accelerate its ability “to move from insights to commercialisation”, ELC said in a statement.
It will also serve as a co-creation space for fragrance houses, ingredient suppliers and other strategic vendors, focusing on excellence, innovation and craftsmanship.
“We are thrilled to receive the keys to our new space in the heart of Paris, which will serve as our Maison des Parfums and include our new Fragrance Atelier,” said Stéphane de La Faverie, ELC’s Executive Group President.
“This exciting new center of fragrance excellence offers proximity to our existing corporate enterprise office network, as well as our fragrance partners, enabling accelerated innovation and speed to market.”
Maison des Parfums interior design is said to be inspired by elements of French savoir-faire and ELC’s fragrance heritage.
The Fragrance Atelier will be located on the top floor of the building and feature co-creation, evaluation and innovation rooms to help bolster fragrance craftsmanship.
The rest of the space will include corporate offices.
Sumit Bhasin, ELC’s Senior VP, Global Fragrance Innovation, Product Development and R&D, said: “The Atelier will further strengthen our end-to-end fragrance innovation by complementing ELC’s broader value chain footprint and capabilities in Europe and worldwide.
“We are eager to deepen our collaborations across the innovation ecosystem in Paris and drive greater speed and agility.”
ELC’s fragrance portfolio includes Jo Malone London, Tom Ford, Le Labo, Estée Lauder, Kilian Paris, AERIN Beauty, Aramis and Balmain Beauty.
