There is no denying that YSL Beauty shook up the make-up category with its Touche Éclat Illuminating Pen when it debuted in 1992.

The light-reflecting concealer-and-highlighter-in-one became an overnight sensation thanks to its hybrid nature, skin care-infused formula and iconic click-pen with brush packaging.

Known more commonly by consumers as ‘the magic wand’, Touche Éclat has stood the test of time and 32 years later remains a cult product, with 13 pens selling every minute.

“Touche Éclat has often been imitated, but never duplicated, and this is a testament to its level of iconicity and authenticity,” says Audrey Roux, Global Marketing Director of Make-up, YSL Beauty.

Roux lifts the lid on the product’s origin story and how it has remained a beauty success in Cosmetics Business ‘Untold Story’ series.
