The event, which is being held in New York City, US, recognises beauty leaders who have made significant contributions to the growth and innovation of the US fragrance industry.

Greenberg was praised for his leadership qualities, which the TFF claimed drove a more than 50% increase in US sales for L'Oréal's luxury fragrance portfolio.

His work outpaced the market by nearly 7% while also championing collaboration across fragrance houses, retailers and higher education.

“As one of the industry's highest honours, David joins a notable group of leaders recognised for shaping the future of fragrance through innovation, inclusion and impact,” a L’Oréal company statement read.

The TFF’s Circle of Champions Award was established in 2000, and the late Leonard Lauder, Chairman Emeritus of the Estée Lauder Companies (ELC), was the first to receive the accolade.

Carol Hamilton, a longtime L'Oréal luxury executive who oversaw brands including Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren Fragrances, also received the award in 2019.

Pamela Baxter, a former President and CEO of LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics North America, was recognised for her contributions to fragrance in 2016.

TFF was founded in New York in 1949 by fashion label Chanel, French beauty giant Coty, skin care icon Elizabeth Arden, luxury house Guerlain and Polish-born American businesswoman Helena Rubinstein.

The organisation is organised around three “strategic pillars”.

This includes education, which is centred around promoting “lifelong learning within the fragrance industry for both consumers and employees”, read a company statement.

Inspiration is the second pillar, and aims to showcase the “diverse world of fragrance to members and the broader community, highlighting innovative brands, individuals and emerging trends”.

Finally, celebration honours the “creativity, ideas, and diversity that drive the fragrance industry forward”.
