International Women's Day 2022, or IWD, on 8 March is championing women's achievements and working towards a gender equality with its theme #BreakTheBias.
The feminist event, observed for the first time in 1911, aims to highlight and recognise the achievements of women in different spheres.
But the link between gender empowerment and other worldwide needs, such as climate change, are becoming increasingly prominent.
