Entrepreneur Nicola Kilner will step down from her role as CEO of Deciem at the end of the year.
Jesper Rasmussen, the company’s Global General Manager and SVP since 2022, will take the reins as Global Brand President.
He has previously held senior positions at Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) and L’Oréal.
Kinler will remain as co-founder to help shape the business’ structure and vision, confirmed Deciem.
Kilner co-founded Deciem, dubbed ‘the abnormal beauty company’, in 2013 with the late Brandon Truaxe as the parent of brands including The Ordinary and NIOD.
She helmed Deciem as the sole CEO in 2018 after Truaxe left the business.
Now a part of ELC, Deciem’s acquisition by the luxury beauty giant began in 2021, following a previous minority investment.
ELC announced the buyout’s completion this June.
Deciem underwent a major streamlining of its operations in 2022, culling HIF, Hylamide, Abnomaly and The Chemistry Brand to focus on NIOD and The Ordinary.
The move paid off, with The Ordinary’s net sales enjoying “strong double digits” growth across every geographic region for ELC in fiscal 2024.
And Deciem this autumn added a new scented but scientific body care brand to its line-up.
Called Loopha, Deciem said the brand was the result of its recently “reignited” incubation engine.
