Ulta Beauty has promoted its Chief Operating Officer (COO) Kecia Steelman to President.
Steelman will be responsible for corporate strategy, information technology, store and services operations, and supply chain for the US beauty retailer.
As well as managing Ulta Beauty at Target, loss prevention, and “enterprise-wide transformation and optimisation efforts”.
Steelman will keep the dual title of COO and report to Ulta Beauty CEO Dave Kimbell.
“Kecia is a talented executive with a proven track record of driving operational excellence,” said Kimbell.
“While fostering a caring and inclusive culture and creating exceptional guest experiences.
“Over the last year, Kecia has increased her scope and influence within our organisation.
“And this expanded role recognises her value to the company and her many contributions to our success.
“While also demonstrating our ongoing confidence in her leadership to help us drive profitable growth for the company over the coming years.”
Steelman joined Ulta Beauty as Senior Vice President, Store Operations, in July 2014.
She took on the title of Chief Store Operations Officer in 2015 before being promoted to COO in 2021.
Other leadership roles Steelman has held within the industry include Group Vice President at Family Dollar Stores and Director of New Store Innovations at the Home Depot Corporation.
Steelman also served in a variety of retail operations and merchandising roles at Target.
Ulta Beauty's annual revenue for fiscal 2022 surpassed US$10bn due to record sales and price increases.
This is the first time the company’s sales have exceeded this figure in its 33-year history.
