The Lipstick Lesbians have given an update on their beauty brand, Leaked Labs, following the backlash from its debut launch, Leak 001: Amplify Flexi Powders.
The beauty brand by viral educator duo Alexis Androulakis and Dr Christina Basias Androulakis, which launched in March 2026, has revealed via email that its second product (Leak 002) will “hopefully” debut in November.
In an Instagram video posted on 9 September, the Lipstick Lesbians have also shared a documentary film that revealed the creation of Leak 002 – pearl pigment eyeshadows called ‘Sexachrome’ – and how, following consumer feedback on its first launch, the business has taken a break to reassess before an official debut of its second product.
This has included scrapping an entire marketing campaign for Leak 002, with the duo stating, on reflection: “I do not know if it really speaks to the soul or the energy of what we are trying to do”.
Leaked Labs launched with the aim to fast-track beauty innovation into consumers’ hands by delivering early access drops of high-potential formulas directly from partner labs and testing viability before full commercialisation.
However, it has been on an “intentional break” since April to reassess how the business will operate going forward.
This was following feedback its community gave to Leak 001: Amplify Flexi Powder – shape-shifting, water-activated powder pigment discs engineered to bend, ripple, activate with water or setting spray, and reform.
The business ended up offering refunds to those unhappy with the initial launch due to issues from consumers regarding the price, mess and overall efficacy of the product, which was communicated to Leaked Labs by user comments on posts on the brand’s Instagram.

The Lipstick Lesbians Instagram caption, which accompanied its Leaked Labs update video, read: “Many of you have asked for an update on Leaked Labs and we wanted to finally share a little bit about where we have been with it.
“Behind-the-scenes, we have been super heads down, rethinking and reshaping practically everything.
“What is it, what it can become and, most importantly, what it needs to be to truly serve all of you beauty queens who love beauty as much as I do.
“To our beauty queens who have been here with us, and to anyone new joining us along the way, thank you for being willing to come on this journey.
“At its core, we always wanted Leaked Labs to bring you closer to the makers in beauty – the behind-the-scenes process, and the parts of the beauty industry you would not normally get to see unless you were on the inside.”
The lipstick Lesbians went on to state that with Leaked Labs’ next launch, it will focus on the brand’s original mission “to create a place for anyone who wants to reconnect with beauty”.
The duo’s caption on Instagram continued: “[To] dig a little deeper, learn how things are really made and rediscover some of the wonder that made us fall in love with beauty in the first place.
“It has been a really, really messy, fun, sometimes wild ride trying to get there, so we are taking our time because we want to make Leaked Labs as special as our community deserves.
“We love you all and we are so excited for what is ahead.”
Since the debut of Leaked Labs, the industry has been rife with debate as to whether the concept can truly revolutionise beauty product development.
