Intense moisture, upcycling and Asia specific needs were just some of the themes driving new cosmetic ingredient activity at in-cosmetics Asia 2019. Taking place in Bangkok’s BITEC from 5-7 November, in-cosmetics Asia attracted 530 exhibitors, including 61 first-time companies.

Moreover, the show hosted the world’s top ten ingredients manufacturers all under one roof for the first time in its history, according to organiser Reed Exhibitions.

Meeting local needs

Among the international names showcasing newly launched ingredients was Ashland.

The US-based company introduced three products to coincide with the event: antaron Eco ethylcellulose, a water-resistant film former that is naturally derived, but whose efficacy outstrips traditional commercial polymers, even at as little as 0.5%; infini’tea biofunctional, a soothing neurocosmetic solution from Camellia sinensis leaf extract, obtained using Ashland’s zeta fraction technology; and optiphen GP preservative, which provides effective preservation with skin mildness and is especially suited for use in facemasks, which require both robust preservation and lengthy contact with the skin.
