Sephora has named Artemis Patrick President of North America, effective from 2 October.
Patrick, who is currently Global Chief Merchandising Officer, will succeed Jean-André Rougeot who is set to retire in April 2024.
She will work alongside Rougeot until then and report to Guillaume Motte, President and CEO of Sephora’s global business.
From January 2024, Patrick will oversee stores, e-commerce, marketing, tech and supply chain for the division.
She will also lead the development of the new North America 2025 to 2027 strategic plan.
"Her unrivalled retail, brand, beauty and consumer expertise, both in North America and globally, together with her remarkable leadership and in-depth knowledge of Sephora, will be instrumental in leading one of our most successful businesses," said Motte.
Patrick is a Sephora veteran, with 17 years experience at the LVMH-owned company.
She started as Director of E-Commerce Merchandising in 2006 before being promoted to VP, E-Commerce Merchandising in 2008.
Patrick then became VP and SVP GM of Sephora inside J.C. Penney until 2015.
A promotion to SVP Merchandising occurred, which was a role Patrick held until 2017.
She then moved on to EVP Chief Merchandising Officer.
In 2020 she climbed the ladder to Global Chief Merchandising Officer, a role she has held for three years.
Patrick’s promotion is part of Sephora’s wider succession plans.
Priya Venkatesh, currently Senior Vice President of Global Merchandising, is set to take on the role of Global Chief Merchant from 2 October.
Sephora’s Global Chief Operations Officer Alexis Rollier, meanwhile, will oversee the Latin America region in addition to his current duties as of 1 January.
