Neutrogena has named Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone brand ambassador.
The 24-year-old track and field athlete was unveiled as the skin care brand’s latest face in a campaign video.
“We have loved watching Sydney’s success over the years and cannot wait to continue to grow as a brand with her by our side,” said Natasha Haubrich, Head of Neutrogena Equity and Strategy.
“We feel confident that this partnership will help inspire consumers across generations.”
McLaughlin-Levrone is a 400m hurdle world record holder and the youngest athlete to qualify for the US track team since 1980.
She joins actress Jenna Ortega and R&B sister duo Chloe and Halle Bailey in Neutrogena’s ambassador family.
“My schedule can get pretty busy with training and meets, and so I do not always have the time to spend scrolling and testing out the latest in skin care and beauty trends,” said McLauglin-Levrone.
"Especially when, in reality, they may not be great for my skin.
“That is why I am so excited to be partnering with Neutrogena to help people everywhere learn what is really vital for their skin’s health.”
The beauty industry is increasingly tapping the power of athletes to promote their products.
Multicultural hair care brand Mielle recently signed basketball star Angel Reese as ambassador.
Kosé Corporation tapped Major League Baseball player Shohei Ohtani for its Decorté and Sekkisei campaigns.
Former Arsenal footballer and TV sports presenter Alex Scott is the latest face of L’Oréal’s Garnier brand.
Cosmetics company Il Makiage, meanwhile, is the official beauty partner of UK football team Arsenal Women.
