Dior has unveiled the official film for its new J’adore campaign featuring Rihanna.
The singer and founder of fellow LVMH-owned brand Fenty Beauty is the new face of the luxury brand’s hero scent, taking over from previous ambassador and actress Charlize Theron.
In the fragrance film, photographed by Steven Klein, Rihanna is seen walking the Hall of Mirrors and across the Grand Canal at the Palace of Versailles in France.
She wears a golden gown created by Dior’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri and the luxury house’s necklace of a thousand pearls.
The necklace, designed by artist Hervé Van der Straeten, is inspired by J’adore’s tear-drop bottle shape.
The theme for the campaign film is ‘the beginning of a new dream in gold’.
“J’adore returns to the origins of a dream in gold offered to women for 25 years,” read a statement from Dior.
“A dream perfume that Rihanna has always loved, as though she were destined for it.”
Rihanna was announced as the face of Dior’s J’adore fragrance last month.
The star was chosen as ambassador because she embodies the values of the scent, explained Parfums Christian Dior CEO Véronique Courtois.
“The unusual talent, audacity and captivating beauty of this absolute star are the ideal embodiment of dazzling, powerful Dior femininity that transcends generations,” said Courtois.
“Christian Dior would most definitely have adored her.”
