Dior has appointed South African actress Charlize Theron as a skin care ambassador.
The Mad Max: Fury Road star has been the face of the luxury brand’s J’adore fragrance (pictured) for 20 years.
The latest extension of her role will see the Academy Award-winning actress promote Dior’s skin care products, with campaign details yet to be revealed.
The LVMH-owned brand currently offers skus including creams, serums and lotions across its ranges which include Capture Totale, Dior Prestige and L’Or de Vie.
Theron will also act as ambassador for the luxury brand’s jewellery business.
“It’s exciting to start this chapter in a long standing partnership with Dior,” said Theron.
“I’m proud of all we have been able to create together and to be joining Dior in celebrating the beauty of jewellery and skin care.
“I’m looking forward to what’s to come.”
Dior first hired Theron as a brand ambassador in 2004, with the Monster actress going on to star in a number of high profile campaigns for its J’adore fragrance.
She also appeared in the luxury brand’s #DiorChinUp campaign in 2020 speaking about her experiences growing up in South Africa.
“Charlize is a member of our family who embodies the Dior spirit that we treasure,” added Véronique Courtois, CEO of Parfums Christian Dior.
“Her rare talent, her commitment, and her other-worldly beauty make her an icon.
“It therefore seems natural to reveal her myriad facets at the heart of the Dior world, by celebrating her triumphant femininity into other areas so appreciated by women: skin care [and] jewellery.”
Dior has recently boosted its roster of ambassadors for its skin care and beauty lines.
The company signed Italian model and actress Deva Cassel as international fashion and beauty ambassador, after naming singer and actress Willow Smith as the face of its make-up line in March of this year.
Dior also appointed celebrity facialist Sarah Akram as its Skincare Expert and Ambassador for the US in the same month.
