The luxury beauty and fragrance house’s UK Christmas activation allows visitors to explore a light installation and listen to live music performances on certain days

Chanel has opened a festive pop-up in the heart of London, UK.

The luxury beauty and fragrance house opened the “immersive installation” on 6 December in the North Piazza of the London shopping destination Covent Garden.

The light installation highlights the brand’s first flagship boutique presence in the area, which was established more than ten years ago.

“Within the installation, you can experience an enchanted, festive moment influenced by the constellations and emblematic symbols of Chanel: the lion, wheat, camellia, comet and pearls,” Chanel said in a company statement.

“All reimagined in a starry sky with an illuminated Nº5 bottle encased in a helix that will create a magical atmosphere in the piazza.”

The pop-up will conclude on 28 December, excluding Christmas Day, with access to the space starting from 11am and ending at 7pm between Monday and Saturday.

Entertainment will include live music performances every hour, starting at 2pm until 6:30pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Chanel added in the statement: “Everyone will be able to move freely through the installation, which becomes the ultimate place to create festive memories.”

The historic fragrance house is not the only beauty business to launch a festive event this year, with Dyson set to host its first-ever festive-themed pop-up in the UK.

The vacuum-technology-business-turned-hair-tech-giant also chose Covent Garden for its 11-day ‘Crafted and Gifted by You’ activation.

Skin care brand Byoma also held a festive pop-up between 5 and 6 December in partnership with UK beauty retailer Boots.

Naturium, the skin and body care brand owned by e.l.f. Beauty, hosted a one-day festive event at shopping destination Battersea Power Station on 22 November.
