Boots has launched its festive beauty campaign for 2025, focused on “classic fairytales” reimagined for modern consumers.
The ‘Gift Happily Ever After’ campaign kicked off with a minute-and-a-half-long advert featuring a CGI feline protagonist based on Puss in Boots by French author Charles Perrault.
The short video sees Puss faced with the challenge of finding last-minute gifts ahead of the Snow Queen’s Ball, eventually ending up at a Boots store to buy gifts for storybook characters such as Rapunzel and Prince Charming.
It aired for the first time at 7am on 4 November on Boots' social media channels, and will make its television debut on ITV’s Martin Lewis Money Show at 8:15pm that same day.
“This year, more than ever, we want to help our customers ‘Gift Happily Ever After’,” said Laura Gooday, Director of Marketing at Boots.
“Our campaign, brought to life by Puss and his fairytale friends, reminds everyone that Boots is the destination for finding the perfect gift for everyone on your list.”
Boots has used the advert to promote the addition of more than 50 new gifting brands for the British beauty and health care retailer’s 2025 holiday trading season.
This includes Made by Mitchell and Beauty of Joseon, as well as Bubble, Laneige and No7.
Juliana Paracencio, Executive Creative Director at VML/The Pharm, added: “This campaign is our own little Christmas fairytale.
“A story where magic meets meaning. ‘Gift Happily Ever After’ invites people to see the season differently, with warmth, joy and a lot of fun, all told through the eyes of our fairytale feline who, once you see it, is impossible not to associate with Boots.”
The video was directed by musical artist pair DOM&NIC through independent production company Outsider, with additional development by London-based creative studio Rascal.
Shot in the UK, the advert combines real footage and CGI to bring the story to life and features the soundtrack ‘Girls On Film’ by Duran Duran.
The fully integrated campaign will run for eight weeks across out of home (OOH), cinema, print, social and online.
In 2024, Boots’ Christmas campaign starred Bridgerton actress Adjoa Andoh as Mrs Claus helping to prepare beauty gifts for Santa Claus to deliver in her Boots ‘Werkshop’.
Bubble, e.l.f., Sol de Janeiro and Laneige featured in the short video, which shows beauty influencers Soph and William Grande testing the products.
