Blockbuster film releases such as The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Toy Story 5 have made 2026 the most successful year at the box office since the Covid-19 pandemic.
But, move over movies, summer 2026 is all about blockbuster fragrance launches too.
The biggest names in fragrance, including Dior, Chanel and YSL, have all released major extensions of marquee lines, or released entirely new franchises, and many have tapped high-profile Hollywood faces to help them break through.
With no sign of consumer appetite for fragrance abating any time soon, it is no wonder.
In the US alone, beauty growth was driven by a boom in fragrance demand in the first half of 2026, according to new data from market research firm Circana.

Both dollar and unit sales of fragrance grew in the period, remaining "a key avenue for affordable luxury and self-expression,” according to Larissa Jensen, Global Beauty Industry Advisor at the market research firm.
Olivier Cresp, Master Perfumer and Founder of Akro Fragrances, says: “The fragrance market has undergone an extraordinary acceleration over the past few decades.
“In the 1990s, there were around 350 fragrance launches a year; today, there are more than 10,000.
