Dior has brought back its amphora bottles in a nostalgic nod to its past, but with a bespoke twist that taps into the trend for perfume personalisation

The luxury fashion house’s iconic bottle is an hourglass shape that was first used in 1947 when Christian Dior created his debut fragrance, Miss Dior.

The design was inspired by the shape of classic Greek and Roman vessels, as well as echoing the shape of the designer’s ‘New Look’ silhouette that revolutionised fashion at the time.

Now Dior has launched a customisation service, The Amphoras Tailoring Atelier, offering a selection of fragrances in personalised amphora-shaped bottles.
