Shekhar, previously VP of Wellness, replaces Creighton Kiper who has run the US retail giant’s beauty business since 2022

US retailer Walmart has named Vinima Shekhar as its new VP of Beauty.

Shekhar was previously VP of Wellness, where she reportedly exceeded across all key metrics including sales, profit and digital targets.

The executive started at Walmart in 2018 in ecommerce and has worked across various areas of the merchandising business since.

Building a new model and long-range strategy for Walmart’s directed spend Fintech platform and growing the business across food and consumables are among her career highlights.

Shekhar succeeds Creighton Kiper, who has led the beauty business for the past two years.

"Vinima is passionate about building inclusive cultures, creating high-performing collaborative teams and spearheading transformations," said Walmart in the memo.

Kiper has reportedly been promoted to Walmart’s Senior VP of Home.

Walmart is not the only beauty business undergoing a C-suite shake-up lately.

Olaplex has appointed two senior leadership positions to help get the bond-building hair care brand back on top.

Diptyque has named a new CEO to support the fragrance brand’s next phase of growth.

Meanwhile, Estée Lauder Companies’ Executive VP and CFO Tracey Travis is retiring after more than 12 years of service.
