Symrise and Cutech have been working together since 2003 in the field of biotissue engineering. One success to come out of this was the development of a method for the long-term organ culture of pig skin, which can be preserved for up to three weeks. The resulting skin model is said to closely resemble human skin and is therefore believed to provide a good substrate for testing cosmetic active efficacy in vitro.

Cutech specialises in research into the dysfunction of skin and hair, particularly the development of preclinical screening assays and finding innovative active materials.
