Robinson Young, a UK distribution company, has won a deal to distribute Soft & Gentle, Cuticura, Pro:voke Touch of Silver and inecto in the region.
The four brands belong to the UK subsidiary of Indian conglomerate The Godrej Group. Robinson Young already distributes a number of personal care brands including Wilkinson Sword and Bodyform.
Godrej Sales Director David Kilby said “As Godrej business continues to expand, we want to make sure we can meet the diverse needs of our valued trade customers. We have chosen to team up with Robinson Young for the efficiency that it can add to our proposition, and to take advantage of its proven expertise.
“Robinson Young is a highly-regarded and long-established distributor across many non-food categories, and Godrej is confident that it will deliver a high quality service and help us grow the sales of these brands in the convenience market.”
The distribution deal has now commenced, although it will not include the distribution of Godrej’s other UK brands such as P20, Bio-Oil or Perspirex. These brands will continue to be distirbuted by Godrej itself, although the company noted it had not ruled out giving more responsibility to Robinson Young if the partnership proves successful.
Robinson Young’s Managing Director Michael Robinson said: “We are hugely excited to begin our professional relationship with Godrej Consumer Products, and feel that our extensive experience in the convenience market will help support Godrej’s ambitious growth plans and their mission to continue to turn exceptional brands into household names in the UK market.”
Godrej Consumer Products (UK) Ltd has doubled its turnover since 2013 to £57m. The company aims to double its turnover again over the next three years.
