US cosmetics brand Origins has signed Indy Officinalis, a sustainability activist and urban mushroom farmer, as its new Global Influencer Partner.
Officinalis will support Origins' Green the Planet initiative which pledges to restore global ecosystems and support environmental justice organisations worldwide.
She will also appear in campaign visuals while developing the brand's social media content.
Ada Lien, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Origins, said: "Indy's respect and enthusiasm for our planet blends perfectly with our guiding principles at Origins.”
Officinalis heralded Origins' formula strategy and that it "has long been using the power of plants, mushrooms and other naturally-derived ingredients."
A graduate of Blue Ridge School of Herbalism, Officinalis received an Advanced Clinical Herbalist Certification after which she spent six years farming and foraging mushrooms throughout the US.
Origins launched Green the Planet in April 2021 to help grow commitment and to combat the effects of climate change.
The brand has integrated mushrooms into its formula and branding since 2006 with the partnership of researcher Dr Andrew Weil.
The range includes Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Sheet Mask as well as Mega-Mushroom Hydra Burst Gel Lotion.
