Bill George has been named as the new president and Chief Operating Officer of all Markwins Beauty Brands. The move comes as Senior Manager, Jeff Rogers, resigned from his role as President of Physicians Formula.
George has worked at Markwins for the past 17 years, playing a major role in its recent acquisition of brands including Physicians Formula and Bonne Bell/Lip Smacker. He is already responsible for overseeing brands Wet n Wild, Black Radiance and Bonne Bell/Lip Smacker. This development will now see him take responsibility for all Markwins beauty brands.
Markwins says that George’s appointment is part of wider restructuring within the company. The new organisation structure is based around three strategic pillars: consumer-centric category management, greater investment in product information and accelerating brand evolution.
The restructure will see Markwins’ portfolio consolidated to have dedicated customer service-centric sales, marketing and analytical support across all regions. The company will also update its R&D centres in Los Angeles and Shenzhen with heavy investment in talent and resources. Markwins is also due to open a new facility in Shanghai.
Eric Chen, CEO and Chairman at Markwins, said: “Markwins Beauty Brands has experienced exceptional growth, especially in the past two years, and our aim is to increase investments that propel future opportunities across all international trading regions. In our rich 32-year history, I believe the next three to five years will be the most dynamic for our company.”
George added: “This is the next logical progression in our ongoing effort to accelerate our growth trajectory and maximise value and service for our customers.”
Markwins Beauty Brands is the largest privately-owned cosmetics company in the US, with a record of reviving purchased brands.
