Lip Smacker is putting the fate of its NPD in the hands of the consumer.
The flavoured lip balm brand has launched its first Official Tastemaker 2017 Search due to run between 1-19 May.
The campaign encourages fans to submit their new product suggestions via Lip Smacker's Instagram page.
Contestants must include flavour name, three key ingredients, descriptors (salty, sweet, etc) and #LStastemaker for a chance to be considered.
After narrowing the choices down to the top five flavours, public voting opens on 30 May and the winner will be announced on 28 June.
The contest is only open to US and Canada residents, but the winning flavour will be available online.
The brand has previously partnered with Disney's Frozen and label Paul Frank to create new flavours.
