Jules Von Hep, the tanning expert behind Isle of Paradise, is stepping back from the brand he founded in 2018.
In an Instagram post, he announced: “It is with a heavy but open heart I announce my resignation and departure from Isle of Paradise.”
He reassured fans that the tanning brand was in “safe hands”, writing: “For the past five years I have partnered with Future Beauty Labs, a beauty company based in Glasgow and New York.
“The Future Beauty Labs team will take the reins from here on out and I feel lucky to have worked alongside such a talented team.”
Founded by Marc Elrick, Future Beauty Labs is the incubator responsible for the Tan-Luxe and Byoma brands, as well as Isle of Paradise.
Von Hep, who had 15 years of experience as a professional tanner under his belt at the time of launch, founded Isle of Paradise with a mission to make the beauty industry more inclusive.
The brand has run campaigns like #OwnYourGlow and Get Body Posi, both featuring model Tess Holiday and Love Island’s Megan Barton Hanson among other body-positive influencers.
In 2024, it moved into the body care segment with a range focusing on luxurious textures and mood-boosting scents.
Von Hep’s Instagram post hinted that he was working on other, potentially wellness-releated projects.
He stated: “Through Isle of Paradise, I’ve hopefully helped you feel more confident on the outside, but now I want to help you feel more confident on the inside.
“I’m excited about what’s to come later this year.”
