The winner of the first edition of the Beautyvibe Innovation Awards has been announced: SkinGuard, an innovative sun care concept developed by Professor Lucília Saraiva and her team from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto.
Going beyond traditional UV protection, SkinGuard supports the skin's natural defense and repair mechanisms, helping protect against sun-induced damage while promoting long-term skin health and resilience.
Built around a biology-driven approach to photoprotection, the concept aims to protect the skin from the harmful effects of UV radiation, support its natural recovery processes, and preserve skin quality over time.
SkinGuard received the highest overall evaluation from an international jury panel composed of leading experts from the beauty, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and business sectors, standing out among a highly competitive group of finalists.
Launched by Colep Consumer Products, the Beautyvibe Innovation Awards were launched to recognize and accelerate innovation across the beauty industry, reflecting the company's ambition to foster collaboration, support emerging innovators, and drive the next wave of beauty innovation through sustainable and visionary concepts.
