Lubrizol Advanced Material (Noveon Consumer Specialties) has snapped up the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Award in the hair fixative polymers sector for its Fixate Superhold polymer. The research company presents this award annually to the company it feels has best demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within its industry.

“This award is presented in recognition of Fixate Superhold polymer and its significance within the hair fixative polymer industry, including its unique design, its degree of new end user value added attributes, its ability to drive consumer claims important in styling, the degree of formulator acceptance of the novel technology and support services offered behind the technology,” commented Frost & Sullivan. “The portfolio of speciality polymers and ingredients for the personal care market of Noveon has positioned it as one of the leading polymer providers in the marketplace.”

Benefits of this award winning material include firm hold for difficult to hold hair as well as in high humidity conditions. It is also said to provide enhanced shine thanks to a proprietary silicone macromer in the polymer architecture; an independent study is said to show a 32% improvement in lustre/shine of hair fibres compared with those treated with PVP K-90 and a 34% increase in lustre/shine compared with untreated fibres.
