The fourth season of Emily in Paris has brought a fresh surge of demand for the highly coveted French girl beauty look.

Searches for ‘French girl makeup’ increased by 100% within 24 hours of the airing of the Netflix show's first half on 15 August, according to Google Trends.

A similar 79% spike occurred in May following Netflix’s release date announcement, with the most searches coming from the US, Iceland, Canada and the UK. 

‘French girl makeup’ searches on YouTube, meanwhile, rose by 88% at the start of August and jumped by a further 11% on 14 August ahead of the season’s release.

The video hosting platform has seen an influx of Emily in Paris-related content in 2024.
