The Inkey List has broken into the spot patch category.

The indie brand has chosen a formula of salicylic acid and ectoin - named this year’s must-have skin care ingredient - for the Hydrocolloid Invisible Pimple Patches which are said to clear spots in four hours.

The launch comes during a period of explosive growth for spot patches in beauty, with the category’s value predicted to nearly double in size from US$594m to $918m by 2032.

Market research company Credence Research, which published the data, points to better awareness of ace conditions and social media as the driving factors behind the trend.

This has resulted in a fiercely competitive segment, with brands like Star Face, ZitSticka and Hero Cosmetics holding significant market worth.

What does The Inkey List hope to gain by venturing into the category now?
