Evolva has partnered with distributor Cornelius Group to market its resveratrol in certain European markets.

Under the agreement, Cornelius will distribute Evolva’s resveratrol to the UK, Republic of Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland foods market.

Evolva’s resveratrol is made from a fermentation process using yeast; it has applications in personal care, food and dietary supplements.

Joy Thomas, technical manager, Cornelius Group said: “Most resveratrol on the market today comes from the Japanese knotweed plant. Evolva’s resveratrol is different and is manufactured via the fermentation of yeast, making it a pure product that is free of pesticides and other impurities that can be found in knotweed extracts.”

“Consumers are now demanding formulations derived from natural sources. The clean label trend is now seen more as a consumer expectation, as well as an industry standard. Fermentation of Evolva’s resveratrol is a natural process and supports the current market and consumer trends”.

Evolva CEO Neil Goldsmith, said: “Much of the resveratrol sold today is made from knotweed, which results in a lack of control over the standard of crop. The benefit of using the fermentation process is that it ensures the quality of the ingredient.

"Manufacturing resveratrol through the fermentation of yeast offers us, and our customers, peace of mind as it’s made from natural and sustainable feedstocks and has a stable, traceable and reliable supply chain.”
