Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has made further adjustments at executive level by appointing Michael Bowes as Executive VP, Chief People Officer.
Bowes, a decade-long ELC employee, is the first person to hold the position at the New York-based beauty giant.
Effective 1 April, he will report directly to ELC President and CEO Stéphane de La Faverie.
Bowes will oversee all areas of global human resources, including talent management, career development and organisational design.
He is expected to drive the organisation forward by focusing on culture building.
Bowes joined ELC in 2015 and has led Global Talent Acquisition as well as end-to-end Talent Management for the company
Prior to ELC, he held roles at Karen Harvey Consulting, Coach, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Cole Haan and Saks Fifth Avenue.
“Michael is a dynamic leader with a deep passion for people and culture,” said La Faverie.
“His strategic vision, commitment to talent development and ability to foster collaboration across our global organisation make him the ideal leader to shape the future of our workforce.
“Michael’s promotion to Executive VP, Chief People Officer, reflects his exceptional track record and his unwavering commitment to making ELC a place where all employees can thrive, innovate and grow.”
ELC has unveiled several changes at the top since the announcement of La Faverie as President and CEO in October.
Ronald S Lauder revealed he would be stepping down from the ELC’s board of directors just days after La Faverie officially took the reins at the beginning of January.
Meanwhile, in the UK & Ireland, the Clinique-owner announced that Pernilla Nyberg would become Senior VP and GM, succeeding UK & Ireland President Sue Fox.
