The Body Shop is making its return to the United States in October 2025, after closing all doors in the market last year.
The relaunch will see the British beauty business launch a dedicated online store and a digital storefront on Amazon.
Customers in America will be able to shop a curated range of The Body Shop’s products, from bath & body to skin and hair care.
This includes its Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner, Camomile Cleansing Balm and Shea Body Butter lines, with plans to add fragrances such as White Musk at a later date.
The Body Shop shuttered its US operations after filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in March 2024, as it grappled with financial difficulties across its portfolio.
“The return of The Body Shop to the US marks a pivotal moment in our global expansion strategy,” said Mike Jatania, Executive Chairman and CEO of The Body Shop.
“By combining a robust e-commerce presence with a leading marketplace offering, we are meeting customers where they are while delivering on our promise of ethical, high-quality products.
“This launch will enable us to rebuild connections with loyal US consumers and drive sustainable, long-term growth for our business.”
The move forms part of a “reinvigorated” global growth strategy, as the embattled beauty business prepares to rebuild its international presence.
This began in October 2025 with its franchise in Iberia, the southwestern European peninsula occupied by Spain and Portugal, with new owners being announced for the region.
The Body Shop stated that the US relaunch “reaffirms its legacy”, offering a “modern and accessible way” for customers to engage with the brand.
The Body Shop’s UK business collapsed into administration in February 2024, just months after being acquired by private equity firm Aurelius for £207m.
The store closures and job cuts followed a period of financial challenges for The Body Shop, including multiple consecutive quarters of losses with former owner Natura & Co.
The process also saw the business sell off most of its business in Europe and a portion of its operations in Asia.
