Beiersdorf to end cosmetics production in Baden-Baden

Facility doesn’t compete with today’s specialistions


Nivea producer Beiersdorf AG is to end cosmetics production at its unit in Baden-Baden. The site is operated by Produits de Beaute Produktions GmbH.

Conditions for manufacturing cosmetics have changed in recent years and the level of capacity utilisation has declined. An analysis of the operation indicated that there was little possibility of the currently highly specialised production being competitive in the context of the group's global production network. The plant will be sold within the next six months and in the event that no investor is found, production and logistics operations will be closed down in the medium-term.
