Beauty ColLABoration House is anticipated to grow the ingredients firm’s annual sales by $80 million by 2028

Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant has opened a new Beauty ColLABoration House near Los Angeles, California.

The cosmetic ingredient manufacturer’s facility has been developed with direct collaboration with customers in the region in mind.

The Beauty ColLABoration House name emphasises the 'lab' component.

Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant said this highlights its role as a collaborative space to develop new cosmetic formulations.

“The opening of this new facility on 10 December marked a significant shift in how we approach cosmetic innovation,” said Christian Vang, President of Clariant's Business Unit Care Chemicals and the Americas region.

“It is not just about showcasing our ingredients; it is about working alongside our customers to create the next generation of beauty products.

“We are thrilled with the positive response and collaborative energy we have seen in just the first few weeks of operation."

The opening of the Beauty ColLABoration House follows the integration of Lucas Meyer Cosmetics into Clariant.

Last year, the Swiss specialty chemicals giant acquired Canada-headquartered Lucas Meyer Cosmetics from IFF for US$810m.

Commenting on the new facility, Vang added: “By combining our personal care ingredients portfolio with Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, we have created a unique opportunity for collaborative formulation development.

“In this fast-paced world of beauty and personal care, we are not just keeping pace with the market; we are setting a new standard for customer collaboration."

On the back of Beauty ColLABoration House and its new collaborative approach to product development, the company expects to increase annual sales from around US$100m currently to $180m by 2028.

“At Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant, it is imperative that we align our strategy with local industry trends,” said Jackie Kim, Sales Director North America at Lucas Meyer Cosmetics.

“The indie brand landscape also involves key players such as consultants and contract manufacturers.

“One of our objectives is to establish direct connections with them and with the emerging brands.”
