Westman Atelier lands $15 million new backing

The luxury make-up line founded by MUA Gucci Westman disclosed the fresh funding in a document filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in February

Westman Atelier, the colour cosmetics brand founded by MUA Gucci Westman, has landed US$15m in fresh funding from investors.

Launched in 2018, Westman Atelier has raised $36.9m to date, according to market data company Pitchbook.

The brand’s fresh round of funding was revealed in a document filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in February.

Existing investors in Westman Atelier include Prelude Growth Partners, the venture capital firm which has also backed fragrance brand Phlur and skin care line Tower 28.

Plus, Imaginary Ventures, the venture firm co-founded by Natalie Massenet, the entrepreneur behind luxury online fashion retailer Net-a-Porter, which has previously backed beauty brands Skims, Glossier and Kosas.

Prelude Growth Partners and Imaginary Ventures both participated in the new round of funding, according to Beauty Independent, which first reported the news.
