Luxury department store Liberty London is launching a new beauty newspaper, in a bid to further expand and engage its beauty community.
Set to publish twice a year, The Hall will feature breaking beauty news, trends and advice, as well as product reviews and recommendations from experts.
Make-up artist and beauty brand founder Gucci Westman has been tapped as a guest editor for the first issue, which will include articles on the return of lipstick and bath-scaping, while there will also be ‘fragrance horoscopes’ from the brand’s astrologer, Lady Liberty.
The newspaper will also feature QR codes throughout the publication, allowing customers to easily shop the products featured via the department store’s website in what is described as a first for the brand.
“The Hall has been curated with a sharp focus on what makes our beauty destination an iconic experience for beauty lovers, including myself,” said Sophie Beresiner, Liberty’s Global Head of Content and Editor-in-Chief of the new publication.
“Compiled by industry-leading editors, it will always feature dynamic visuals, compulsive shopping edits, the best practical advice and visionary contributors, all wrapped up in the unique delivery you would only expect from the creative minds at Liberty.”
This is not the first time the luxury department store has dipped its toe into journalism; it also offers The Book, its quarterly collectable coffee-table magazine.
The new launch follows the company’s first-ever beauty box subscription, The Beauty Drop, which offers customers in the UK a quarterly selection of trial-size beauty products curated by Liberty’s beauty buyers, said to be worth £300 a year.
The Hall will be sent out to 50,000 of the company’s Liberty Loyalty card members twice a year, and will also be available to pick up in the London department store’s Beauty Hall in the UK capital’s Regent Street.
Today, the retailer offers an ever-expanding range of fragrance, cosmetics, hair care and skin care brands, including the likes of Trish McEvoy, Olaplex, Byredo and Dr. Barbara Sturm, as well as its own brand products.
