Venus said the partnership aims to create greater confidence and awareness of women’s gynaecological health

Venus and the Lady Garden Foundation have partnered to help women become more comfortable talking about their intimate area.

The razor brand said it is supporting the women’s health charity with a special Pubic Hair and Skin razor donation pack, which is available in UK Superdrug stores nationwide.

For every pack sold, Venus will donate 10p to the Lady Garden Foundation.

“We should be free to talk about our pubic areas and our gynaecological health without shame,” Olivia Hughes, Senior Communications Manager for Venus.

“This partnership is so important in continuing what we began when launching our Pubic Hair and Skin Collection, to encourage using language which accurately and respectfully represents the female body.”

“Whether hair is there, growing or gone, we want to encourage women to have open and honest conversations about their pubic care, removing misinformation, and tackling stigma at the same time,” she added.

Venus said that every year in the UK, more than 21,000 women are diagnosed with gynaecological cancers.

The subject, however, remains a taboo, after a survey of 2,000 women aged 18-45 found that 26% had trouble using the word ‘pubic’ in any kind of conversation.

The #KnowYourPubic campaign aims to help tackle persisting embarrassment and taboos women still feel on the topic of pubic care.

In 2021, Venus dubbed 12 May as Vulva Appreciation Day, a campaign led by Venus’ body positivity ambassadors Alex Light, Scarlett Curtis, Natalie Lee and Ewoma Ukeleghe.

The brand aimed to empower females to take back the language for their intimate areas by encouraging women to speak freely about grooming and the pubic region.

It also launched a series of educational content, as well as a podcast, at the time in collaboration with The Happy Vagina, a podcast that celebrates women, hosted by British actress Mika Simmons.
