Unilever plans to eliminate 149 positions at its New Jersey offices in the next 13 months.
The move forms part of the company’s global productivity programme, which was announced in March and will result in 7,500 jobs axed globally.
Unilever said affected employees will have the chance to apply for open positions in the company.
They are also eligible for severance pay and access to resources such as outplacement services and development training.
These new job cuts come not long after the company announced in July its plans to slash a third of all office roles in Europe by the end of 2025.
The headquarters will remain in New Jersey, but will be moving from Englewood Cliffs to Hoboken beginning March 2025.
Unilever said the New Jersey and other job cuts will allow it to focus “across Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care, Home Care” in a statement online.
A spokesperson told Cosmetics Business in March: “We announced the launch of a comprehensive productivity programme, to drive focus and growth through a leaner and more accountable organisation.”
Cosmetics Business has contacted Unilever for comment.
