Brand incubator Maesa has appointed former Revlon VP Oshiya Savur as its new Chief Brand Officer.
Savur will oversee product development, communications and social and influencer marketing in the new role.
She joins from Charlotte Tilbury’s North American business, where she was VP of Marketing and Education Strategy.
Prior to this, the self-described 'intrapreneur' worked for major beauty players including Unilever, Revlon and Elizabeth Arden.
“Working at Maesa is a dream come true,” said Savur.
“It will allow me to consistently disrupt personal care with exciting brand launches within an already strong portfolio, so the opportunities to succeed here are endless.
“At the same time, I am looking forward to applying the intellectual rigour that will help scale a sustainable incubator model for years to come.”
Her appointment comes after Maesa named former Unilever VP Piyush Jain as its new CEO in September 2022.
Jain’s career highlights include co-creating Unilever's body care brand Love Beauty & Planet as Global Brand Vice President as well as leading the company's North American hair care business.
The duo’s careers also crossed over for nine years when Saruv joined Unilever as a Business Leader Trainee in 2007.
Jain was working as the Senior Brand Marketing Manager of the company at the time.
Maesa developed Drew Barrymore’s beauty brand Flower Beauty
“I am looking forward to Oshiya building on the strong innovation and marketing fundamentals at Maesa and to continue expanding the Maesa magic and making Maesa the absolute best beauty innovator and marketer globally.”
The US-based private label manufacturer has developed celebrity brands including actress Priyanka Chopra's Anomaly Haircare and Drew Barrymore's Flower Beauty.
Maesa recently became embroiled in a legal dispute with Kristin Ess, the celebrity stylist behind Kristin Ess Hair, who sued the incubator in November.
The filing claimed that Maesa, her eponymous brand’s long-term partner, had deprived Ess of both the creative control over and ownership of her brand.
However, in March 2023 Ess revealed that she and Maesa had now resolved their legal battle.
“As you may or may not know, late last year I filed a lawsuit against my business partners,” Ess wrote at the time.
“At the time, I’d explained it wasn’t what I wanted to do, but felt like I had no other choice.
“Today, I am relieved and grateful to say – we found a way forward.”
