TRI-K receives first runner up at Sustainable Beauty Awards
TRI-K Industries, a global manufacturer of beauty and personal care specialty ingredients, is pleased to accept first runner up overall, and first place amongst ingredient suppliers, for the Sustainable Ingredient Award for their product, Baobab Tein NPNF, from the Sustainable Beauty Awards held in Paris, France.
TRI-K launched the product for hair care in 2014 and again for skin in spring of 2015. During product development, great care was given to ensure the upmost environmental and economic standards. TRI-K was meticulous in choosing a supplier that provided not only a sustainable and environmentally friendly product, but one that is sourced directly from local communities that live in the harvest areas.
Baobab Tein NPNF is a multi-functional oligopeptide that defends skin from photo-ageing and offers 5-in-1 anti-ageing benefits to hair. Based on substantial in vivo testing, Baobab Tein NPNF has been proven to offer novel benefits to hair and skin care formulations. More importantly, Baobab Tein NPNF offers TRI-K the opportunity to support the social and environmental vision behind this product and the raw material from which it comes.
It provides TRI-K the chance to give back by helping to enrich the lives of others, assist societies in gaining economic stability and growth, and ensuring the existence and sustainability of Baobab trees for generations to come. Through TRI-K’s partnership with PhytoTrade, Baobab Tein NPNF empowers women in underprivileged communities the opportunity to make a living by cultivating Baobab saplings and selling the fruit to market. Our manufacturing process honours this cognitive consciousness to support and maintain the integrity, respect and care that is given to the Baobab fruit from germination to collection.
The Sustainable Beauty Awards “gives recognition to those who are pushing the boundaries of sustainability inside the beauty industry” and the Ingredient Award is given to a cosmetic ingredient that makes a significant difference in terms of environmental/social footprint. Of more than 100 applicants for the award, TRI-K was chosen as one of four finalists, along with L’Oreal, Croda and IBR Ltd.
