Tom Ford Beauty has promoted company veteran Dexter King to Senior Vice President, Global General Manager.
King has been with the luxury beauty brand for nine years in a number of leadership positions, including most recently Senior Vice President, Global Marketing and Strategy.
In his new role, King will accelerate Tom Ford’s beauty positioning through “world-class innovation” across make-up, fragrance and skin care.
His growth plans will cover category, channel and geography to elevate the Esteé Lauder Companies (ELC)-owned brand’s “signature aspirational storytelling of modern luxury glamour”.
Guillaume Jesel, President and CEO of Tom Ford and Luxury Business Development at ELC, said King was chosen due to his multifaceted leadership experience.
King previously helped elevate Tom Ford’s fragrances to the luxury tier, as well as accelerated the brand’s channel strategy and share gains across key markets.
“[He] has been instrumental in helping the brand achieve exceptional global growth,” said Jesel.
“His deep understanding of luxury, the importance of aspirational local relevance, and his command of the strategic growth opportunities in the luxury sector make him well suited to lead the continued global momentum of Tom Ford Beauty.”
King will report into Jesel and join ELC’s extended executive leadership team.
Prior to Tom Ford Beauty, King held senior leadership positions at companies such as Coca-Cola, McKinsey & Company and Moët Hennessy.
