The Perfume Shop is launching a fragrance delivery service on Deliveroo to expand its omnichannel offering.

More than 1,000 of the independent fragrance retailer’s perfumes will be available on the UK food delivery app, with orders expected to arrive in “as little as 25 minutes”.

UK customers can treat themselves or buy a fragrance for someone as a present via the Deliveroo Shopping ‘give-a-gift’ in-app function.

The collaboration is the result of consumer demand, said both businesses, with searches for ‘perfume’ on Deliveroo soaring more than 300% year-on-year.

“By partnering with the UK’s leading food delivery platform, we are taking our gifting and retail options to the next level,” said Gill Smith, MD at The Perfume Shop.

“The exciting collaboration is all about opening new avenues and making things more convenient and accessible to our customers.”

The scheme will launch in the coming months, with 21 of The Perfume Shop’s sites initially taking part.

These will be based in major UK cities like London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Deliveroo's previous beauty partnerships include Benefit Cosmetics and Holland & Barrett.

Commenting on The Perfume Shop deal, Eric French, COO at Deliveroo, added: “We know people are using Deliveroo to send gifts to friends and loved ones, as well as purchase fragrances for themselves.”

The UK fragrance sector continues to grow, with total sales in December 2023 estimated at more £2bn, according to market analyst Statista.

This is an increase of 9.4% in comparison to the previous year.

The Perfume Shop has expanded its offering for consumers recently, partnering with L’Oréal to launch the French beauty’s giant’s first-ever in-store, multi-brand fragrance refill station.

The device delivers sustainable refill choices for eight of L’Oréal’s best selling fragrances, from brands such as Armani, Mugler and YSL
