The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) is pleased to announce Dr. Anthony Rawlings, Director at AVR Consulting, as the recipient of the Maison G. deNavarre Medal Award, the Society’s highest honor recognizing an individual for accomplishments in activity supporting the best interests of the cosmetics and personal care industry.
“Dr. Rawlings has been recognized by his peers in the cosmetics and personal care industry for his outstanding technical contributions in functional skin and hair care technologies,” said Erica O’Grady, CAE, Executive Director/CEO of the Society.
“Tony is a well-respected researcher and expert in skin biology and stratum corneum biochemistry, and a deserved recipient of the Society’s highest award.”<>
Tony has over 35 years of experience in R&D, including 30 year of research in skin biology, and has authored/co-authored more than 200 technical papers, book chapters and abstracts.
He also holds more than 50 patents in the areas of skin and food science and has been honored by numerous industry organizations throughout his career.
“Dr. Rawling’s significant technical contributions to the field, particularly in the areas of skin moisturization and acne therapy, are representative of our founder’s vision for the advancement of cosmetic science,” said Kelly Dobos, SCC President and Cosmetics Technical Manager for Americas, Sun Chemical Corporation.
