The brand’s Beauty Trends Report analysed Google search data to discover the looks that will dominate next year

Beauty Pie has unveiled medium contrast make-up, Irish hair and duck-shaped nails among its top trends predictions for 2025.

The beauty subscription service’s Beauty Trends Report analysed Google search results from the past six months, comparing these with the six months prior.

This allows it to pinpoint the trends surging in interest as we approach the new year.

Medium contrast make-up will reportedly take centre stage in 2025, as global interest in the look has surged by 45,320%.

As Beauty Pie explained, medium contrast is when an individual’s skin colour varies by a few tones from their hair and eye colour.

For example, on someone who has brown hair and very light skin, a medium-toned, rosy lip and cheek colour may be recommended to unify the overall look.

Following TikTok creator Jools Lebron’s use of the phrase ‘very mindful, very demure’, demure make-up is the second prediction, up 4,268%.

While interest in high-contrast make-up, which involves a vast shade differentiation between features, increased 3,492%.

The skin care trend attracting the most interest in 2025, Beauty Pie predicts, will be waterless skin care (+806%), with waterless skin care products feted by consumers for their high concentration of active ingredients.

In the hair care space, ‘Irish curls’ or ‘Irish hair’ is gaining traction online (+649%)

This involves an uneven curl pattern, with more curls on the underneath layers of the hair and straighter top layers.

And consumer interest revolves around how to style this hair type.

For nails, a successor to 2024’s coffin-shaped nails is predicted to be duck-shaped nails (+463%).

This nail shape is wide and fanned out like a duck’s foot, presenting more room for intricate nail designs.

And a new trend in the blush space, according to Beauty Pie, will be ‘sunburned make-up’, also known as ‘sunburnt blush’ (+405%)

The technique involves creating a natural sun-kissed glow across the face, where you would typically get sunburnt, such as across the cheekbones, nose and forehead.

Other trends rounding out Beauty Pie’s top ten beauty trends for next year include boyfriend blush, sunset blush and Sabrina Carpenter make-up.
