Sephora is donating US$100,000 to female empowerment-focused charity Girls Inc, encouraging its customers to show their support ahead of International Women’s Day.
The funds, donated through Sephora’s philanthropic partner Tides Foundation, will support the nonprofit’s work to empower girls aged 5-18 across the US and Canada, aiming to equip them with the confidence and skills to succeed in life through training and mentorship programmes.
Members of Sephora’s Beauty Insider loyalty programme can also support the cause by redeeming their points collected from purchases at the retailer for a donation to the charity.
Consumers can donate 500 points for a $10 donation to Girls Inc; 1,000 points for $20; or 1,500 points to donate $30.
More on Sephora:
Girls Inc is the latest nonprofit to feature in Sephora’s Charity Rewards initiative, which showcases a new organisation every month that loyalty card holders can donate to, instead of redeeming their saved points for beauty products.
Right to Be, Girls E-Mentorship (GEM) and The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) are among previous causes that consumers could support, tackling issues such as harassment, racial and gender inequality.
